I’ve become
known — or is that "notorious"? — for my mailings
to potential clients. I’d be glad to include you if you
don’t already receive my cards; just e-mail your land

The

was pretty
fine,
too…

The Teddy Bears were the
classic rock group that launched the career of legendary producer Phil
Spector. I was privileged to interview Carol Connors, the
lead singer of the #1 hit "To Know Him Is To Love Him" and many other
lesser-known but beautiful recordings by the group. Carol continued
with her singing career, but has her biggest successes are as a
songwriter, composing several hits in the surf/hot rod era, including
the Rip Chords’ "Hey Little Cobra." She also wrote the lyrics
to "Gonna Fly Now" (Theme from "Rocky"), and is currently represented
by the lyrics for two new songs in the Academy Award-winning movie,
"The Pianist."
The interview was
e-published in May, 2003 in Spectropop, the on-line music history
resource; read it here.
